Working with IIT Guwahati LAN.

How to setup?? 

After you have your "id" and "password" from computer center.Now to do following settings:-

At first :-

go to cc, open this link to calculate your hostel ip.

 STEP 1 - Go to start(Right click on windows button)>control panel>network and internet>view network status and tasks -

(make sure you have connected ethernet wire to your laptop)

if not

Go to start(Right click on windows button)>control panel>network and internet>view network status and tasks > "change adapter setting"> "local internet connections "(right click on this)and see step 3 below:-

STEP 2-Now click on "Ethernet" as shown in image.

STEP 3-Now click on "properties" as shown below.

STEP 4-Now "double click" on "Internet protocol 4 IPV4".

STEP 5-Now input the required data i.e IP ,DNS, etc....

Now setting for Firefox:

STEP 1-click on "OPTIONS" button.

STEP 2-Now click on "SETTING".

STEP 3-Now fill the required data.

                                          "AND YOU ARE DONE"

                                     "comment below if any problem persist"

DC++  setting 

At first download Dc software

search in GOOGLE"Apex dc"(most of us using this)

install and open it:

STEP 1-Click on "setting icon"as shown in red ellipse.

 STEP 2-In General setting enter any "nick you want".

STEP 3-Please match the "Connection setting "with following image and click "ok".

STEP 4-Now Click on "star" button.

STEP 5-Now Click on "New" button.

STEP6 -In address fill

 adc://10.9.9.9:2780 

and click "ok"
